About Our Ingredients

The ingredients in Lengthy Strands hair care products were tested, tried and chosen for their ability to restore hair’s vitality, and make hair more manageable and vibrant. Find out more about each of them below:

Panthenol (Pro Vitamin B)
Derived from pantothenic acid (found in B vitamins), this ingredient is crucial to providing moisture and strength to hair. Panthenol is what’s known as an ‘emollient,’ meaning it helps smooth and soften the hair shaft. In addition to providing moisture, it also helps hair maintain it, providing a healthy, balanced environment for hair growth. Panthenol is appropriate for all hair types.

Silk Amino Acids
Often found in shampoos, conditioners, body lotions, cleansers and makeup, silk amino acids contain HAA (hydroxy amino acid), which helps bind moisture to the hair shaft, keep it smooth – and yes, leave it feeling silky! 

Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil
A popular ingredient in high-quality hair and skin care products, jojoba is well-known for its ability to nourish and strengthen hair. It contains nourishing antioxidants and fatty acids, which deliver moisture and help protect against dryness, damage and breakage. Jojoba may also promote normal hair growth through helping maintain the health of the scalp. 

Hydrolyzed Keratin
This ingredient is actually a protein, which is crucial for hair health and growth. It penetrates deep into the surface of each hair shaft, delivering nourishment to strengthen hair, prevent frizz and protect against breakage, especially from heat styling and chemical treatments. 

Collagen
This ingredient provides amino acids that can be used to build hair. It provides moisture to the scalp, strengthens the hair follicle, accelerates healing, and nourishes the hair bulb. Helps fight damage to hair follicles. Helps prevent hair thinning and slows the graying process.

Behentrimonium Methosulfate 
This ingredient is a softening, conditioning agent that moisturizes and helps detangle hair.

Behentrimonium Chloride
This ingredient softens, strengthens and adds moisture and shine to hair. Helps with detangling.

Behenyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol
Hydrating ingredient that helps the hair retain moisture. / Softens the hair. While these two ingredients contain the name alcohol, it must not be confused with the drying irritating sd alcohol.

Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil 
Perfect for dry, damaged hair, apricot kernel oil helps soften, soothe and smooth the hair and scalp. It contains essential fatty acids, which deliver crucial nourishment and moisture to leave hair looking shiny and feeling smooth. 

Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil
Almonds aren’t just for eating – sweet almond oil is an effective ingredient in many hair and skin care products because of its nutrient content. Sweet almond oil delivers protein, essential fatty acids and antioxidant vitamin E, helping protect hair and provide nourishment, moisture and shine.

Macadamia Ternifolia (Macadamia) Seed Oil
Just like the edible nuts, macadamia seed oil is packed with nutrients, including fatty acids, vitamin E and magnesium, all of which are incredibly beneficial to dry, damaged hair. This oil provides moisture and strength to restore, protect against damage and promote shine. 

Adansonia Digitata (Baobab) Seed Oil
Baobab seed oil is derived from a tree nicknamed the “tree of life,” and it’ll give new life to your hair by providing omega-3 essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals, all of which promote hydration and nourishment. 

Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil
Well-known for its moisturizing fatty acids, castor seed oil also contains vitamin E, an antioxidant which provides nourishment and protection for hair and scalp. Castor seed oil may promote and stimulate hair growth. 

Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil
Perhaps one of the most popular and well-known luxury oils, argan oil is known in many places as “liquid gold” for its nutrient contents and its ability to moisturize, nourish and protect all hair types. Argan oil is especially helpful for repairing dry, damaged hair. 

Sclerocarya Birrea (Marula) Seed Oil
Rich in hair-protectant antioxidants, marula seed oil is derived from the marula fruit tree, found in southern Africa. Although it provides plenty of hydrating moisture, marula is lightweight, so it won’t leave hair feeling heavy or greasy.
